Fishing trip to Mill Creek
Mill Creek is a fairly large creek that runs from down in Olathe to the Kansas River just about the 435 bridge. The upper end of it is very clear much of the time and sand and gravel bottomed (clear creeks are fairly rare around here). There is a biking trail that runs the length of the creek that we have biked several times, but this was our first time to try fishing it. I ended up catching a few small white bass and Tucker caught several bluegill. On the way back up the bike trail we saw copperhead crossing the trail. That was the first one I have seen up here (have seen tons in Arkansas). Of course Tucker did not even have a healthy fear of it, so I had to keep him a safe distance back.
